Leavers Trip and Roman-battle formations

11 Jul 2019

12th July 2019

With the holidays fast approaching, class 4 began a holiday brochure design competition. It has to look appealing, sound persuasive, contain relevant, factual information and be well organised. There will be prizes for the top 3 which will be judged next week.

We have also continued our studies in the Roman invasion and have considered why the Roman army were so successful fighting against the British Celts. Despite the Celts having a fearsome reputation, it was really down to the Roman army's discipline and quality training. The children didn't have time to make a full sized shield so instead we made finger shields and arranged ourselves into some of their famous formations.

This is known as the repel cavalry

This formation is called 'The Tortoise'

The year sixes also enjoyed their leavers treat, which was a day at Camp Hill and using the tree-top assault course. This included over coming multiple challenges in the air, whilst attached to a harness. To finish off, you needed to push yourself off a high ledge attached to a zip wire. Mr Breckon and Mrs Lyall also took part and proved they're just as nimble.
