Good morning class 1!

I hope you enjoyed todays story . Click here if you would like to listen to it again. Perhaps you could draw a picture of  something that Angelica had in her pocket ?

Nursery Phonics

You could play Silly Soup using our sound of the week .
Ask to use a big pan . Go on a hunt around the house to find some things that start with a S sound . Examples would be snake , sock , soup , scissors ,soap , selotape ......
You could ask your grown up to find some other things that don't start with a S sound eg apple , teddy , biscuit ...
Put all the things together beside the pan . Say the name of each item . If it starts with a S sound put it in the pan ! You could give the silly soup a stir between each item with a wooden spoon . At the end of the game you should have all the things which start with S in the Silly Soup pan . Remember to help put everything away after the game !! Have fun !

Reception Phonics

Find the sheet Find and write the 'ng' words in your phonics pack .
You could practise writing the letters that make the sound on your white board first .
Look at each picture and say the word . Here they are (they weren't all obvious ) quack /bath/ sail/ gong/bang/sing/pong/chop/ring .
Can you sound talk each word and say which sounds you would need to make each one . Can you remember which letters make the sounds ? Which words have the 'ng' sound at the end ? Can you write them on your sheet ? You could write the word for each picture (apart from sail - we havn't covered the 'ai' sound yet )

Find your copy of the phase 3 sound mat in your phonics pack .
Practise finding the sounds we have covered ( j v w x y z qu ch sh th ng ) Ask your grown up to say a sound . Can you find it on your mat ?

Maths Reception

Click here to watch Numberblocks number 10 .
Find the dotty toys dot to dot sheet in your maths pack and complete Dotty Toys 1 and Dotty Toys 2.
Use your 10 cubes . Use 2 tubs . Break your tower of 10 into 10 cubes . Can you find different ways to divide your cubes between the 2 tubs ? You will be finding lots of different ways to make 10 ! You can talk about what you find . For example 3 cubes and 7 cubes makes 10 cubes altogether . You could also explain that 10 cubes can be made into 2 parts . One part has 3 cubes and another part has 7 cubes. You can find lots of different ways to share 10 the ten cubes between the 2 tubs . You might like to record some of the ways you have found .

Maths Nursery
Can you sing some number songs ? Click here to watch 5 Little Speckled Frogs .
Can you make some collections of 5 things ? For example 5 bricks / teddies / socks / spoons ? Count carefully each time !
