Class One News Friday 26th March

RHebblewhite and NTodd - 25 Mar 2021

Class One News Friday 26th March

This week in Class One, we have been learning about Easter in Collective Worship. We watched the Easter Story and found out why and how Christians celebrate. We talked about the baby animals that were being born on our farms and learned that Christians give chocolate eggs to their families at Easter, as a sign of Jesus being re-born, just like the duckling, chicks and lambs.

At the beginning of the week, we read a story about a mother duck and her ducklings and decided that we would like to make our own duckling and chick pictures, using paperplates, feathers and other collage materials. After I had shown the children how to make their picture, everyone (including Nursery!) was able to make a picture all on their own, showing their fantastic listening skills and their cutting skills too. I was very impressed! Well done, Class One!

Later in the week, we made some beautiful Easter Egg cards, making patterns by rolling marbles in paint! The children had a lot of fun doing this! We also made an Easter Tree, using branches from the school garden and decorated it with colourful eggs. We had hot cross buns for snack and baked chocolate Easter nests - yummy!

We have had a great start back at school. The children have been amazing and have definitely earned a nice break at home! We hope you all have a lovely holiday!

Happy Easter everyone!
