Class News Friday 11th June

R hebblewhite and N Todd - 08 Jun 2021

This week we have been making the most of the sunshine and enjoying some outdoor learning in our shady grass area. As we have seen some higher morning temperatures, could we please remind you to apply your child with suncream before school and send in a labelled sunscreen for them to use at later on at school.

Outside this week, we were very excited to meet a new addition to the class.....Freddie the frog, who Albert spotted in our Wild area! We were all very excited and took turns to gently hold him...some children even gave him a tiny stroke with their finger! The children couldn't believe how far such a small creature could jump and wanted to find out more about frogs. We were keen to learn more about Freddie and his family, so we looked at information books to find out more. The children also enjoyed finding out about frogs and toads from the BBC Learning Zone videos that we shared and we then decided to practise our cutting and fine motor skills, to make our very own Freddies, with 'boingy' legs!

In R.E. this week, we have continued to look at stories from the Bible. We shared the stories, 'The Parable of the Two Sons' and talked about how precious and special a promise was. We then wrote our own promises to our friends and families and cut them out in a heart shape. Among the promises, the children pledged to 'always love their family',  'play nicely', 'share toys with their siblings', ....Some easier to keep than others!!

Also this week, the children have been having lots of fun in our new outdoor sandpit - as you can see!
