Morning work

Log onto Teams and click on the Assignments tab. You will see an assignment called 'Grammar and punctuation'. Click on the assignment and complete the questions.

English

Let's try our first ladder letters.

Can I correctly form the joined up letters 'l' and 't'.
Y1 - Practice the letters 'l' and 't' on the page in your handwriting booklet that says 'Tall ladder letters'. We have missed a few pages out but we will come back to them.

Y2 - Practice the joining the letter 'l' by carefully writing a whole line of 'l's. Make sure that each one is the same hight and there are no gaps between your line up and line down. You will have to do a lot more than I did and it is a lot harder than you think!

Fact Sheets

Over the next few days we are going to be writing a fact sheet about deserts. Let's find out what a fact sheet is.

Can I plan my fact sheet?

Tomorrow you can start writing your fact sheet but today I want you to think about what you are going to write about. We have learnt so much about deserts from the Cat in the Hat and you won't be able to write about everything so you need to decide what are the most interesting or important facts that you want to include. We can put the fact sheets on display in school so that other classes can find out about the desert when we get back.

Fold a sheet of paper into 4 parts and draw or write words to plan the things you are going to write about.
Think of what a desert is and one or two animals and plants.

Challenge: What fun fact could you write about?

Remember that you can listen to the book again. The videos are the webpages for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Take a photo of your work and send it to me in your private channel on Teams (or email)

You now know your 2 times table, 5 times table and 10 times table so log onto  TTrockstar  and see what you can remember.

I have set this as your maths today so you will only be able to play on Gig or Garage whichever is showing.

Phonics/Spelling

Year 1

Practice this weeks spellings. Remember to 'Look at the word. Say it out loud. Cover it up. Write it. Check that what you have written is the same as the original.

Year 2

Reading

Quiet reading for 20 mins - you can read to someone else or to yourself.
Y2 - make sure that you click on the link https://ukhosted116.renlearn.co.uk/2245402/  and complete the quiz when you have finished a book.

Music

Today you are going to be creating simple patterns to play/tap/clap along with the music. We have been learning about the heart beat of the music called 'the pulse'. How can you move to the pulse with your body? You can clap, or tap, or stamp. There are lots of other ways as well.

1) Say the rhyme 'Mrs White had a fright'. Clap to the pulse then march to the pulse. What other movements can you do?
2) Now make up a pattern of movements/sounds to play to the pulse. I tried     tap, clap, tap, clap.
3) Post your pattern ideas on the general channel in Teams for other people to try.
4) Will your pattern work with a different piece of music? Try with your favourite song or
click onto the picture below to play along with 'I am a robot' from BBC PlayIt.
Choose the game 'Feel the beat'   then the song 'I am a robot'
