Practice all the joined up letters you have learnt so far using a whiteboard pen on your laminated letter formation sheet.
Year 1
caterpillar letters c,a,g,d  (Remember to start on the line, woosh to the middle and say high to Mr Caterpillar then go back round)
ladder letters i, l, t
Year 2
Practice as many capital and lower case letters as you can in 5 mins. Remember that capital letters start at the top and lower case letters start on the bottom line.

Here is a set of instructions. What do you think it is for?
Printable copy   -Doorstopper.pdf-

Yes it is a recipe. The instructions tell us what we need and how to make a triple-decker doorstopper sandwich! Let's read it together.

Did you hear any commands in the 'What to do' section? We have learnt before that commands use bossy verbs (imperative verbs) which are often at the beginning of the sentence. How many imperative verbs can you spot?

Can I identify imperative verbs?
Y1 - Read the 'What to do' section again and find as many different imperative verbs as you can. (Clue - they are normally at the beginning of the command sentence.) Write them as a list in your home school book. Write the letters c,a,d,g,i,l,t as joined up letters.

Y2 - Choose your challenge.
1) Same as Y1 above - but you must write the whole word in beautiful fully joined up writing.

or 2) Read the following recipe for Fishcake Flounders and find all the imperative verbs in the 'What to do' section. (Clue - some of the imperative verbs are being tricky and are not the first word in the sentence.)
Printable copy   -Flounder.pdf-

All - If you have time you could go on an 'imperative verb' hunt. Can you find any other imperative verbs in instructions that you have at home?

Y1 Maths
Get your white board pens, laminated sheet, bricks and tens frames to have a go at the questions in the video as I am talking about them. You can pause the video at any time so that you have more time to work them out. Remember that I know you can add by counting on. Today the challenge is to try something different and add by making 10.

Can I add by making 10?

Topic
In the UK we have cold winters and warm summers. But the weather can be very changeable. Talk to your families about places that you have been to. What was the weather like. If you have visited a different country can you find it on a map? Was the weather the same or different to the weather we have in England?

Click on the link below to find out more about the weather around the world.
