Maths:
Today in our maths we are going to keep working on our Maths No Problem , erm, problems. As before I've put up a few slides that hopefully explain what we are doing, and then there are some answers too so that you can mark and check your work. If you can tick them using a neat tick and a blue pen that would be brilliant, but if you don't have a blue pen any colour would be ok.
Ok then Year 3, it is you first!
If you have some change at home you might want to make the amounts and add the real coins together to help you.
If you look carefully you'll see that Ravi has put the numbers in neat columns and he has started adding the pennies, then the tens, and then the pounds last.
Some people might have wanted to add the coins together. If you have any change at home you could use the coins and add them up that way.
On this one it does look again like they are adding the pounds first, but it is a good habit to remember to start with the pennies. This is because sometimes if we have 50p and 60p to add they would make an extra pound and if we've already added the pounds up that might confues us.
Watch our for questions 2 , that is one of those that will trick you if you add the pounds up first.

Right Year 4s, you've waited very patiently so it is time to see what you are doing.
For your next few lessons of Maths No Problem you will need to do lots of multiplying and it has been a while since we have done any together. As you need to be able to multiply to work in your books I've set today's task on MyMaths because this will go over how to multiply.
Don't forget to look at the lesson before you do the activity. Also, when you do the lesson don't forget to use the "Next" button on the side to move you along either (I kept missing this and then wondering why it didn't make much sense. Luckily you lot are all cleverer than me).

Reading:
I've thought of something a bit different for your reading today. Why not see if you can do your reading somewhere unusual, or maybe you already have a cool place to read that you want to tell us about.
We'd all love to see some of the things you get up to so feel free to send in a pic of you doing "extreme reading". We also love cute so if you read to a pet or an animal we would love to see that too.
Please be really careful with this though as some places can be dangerous (especially if you live on a farm), so please let a grown-up know where you are wanting to read.
Writing task:
I would like you to create an advert for a new after-school sports club. You can choose the type of sports club it is; be as imaginative as you like! It can also be one that we couldn't do in real life, so you could suggest a horse riding club or go-karting, or anything that takes your fancy.Maybe you could pretend that you have special guests as coaches too. Maybe Pippa Funnell or Lewis Hamilton are going to come and run some of the sessions. If you wanted to you could do it for a club that you know or go to.
Remember to include persuasive language as well as colour and pictures to catch the reader's attention. Your aim is to convince school to run the club and to get as many people as possible who want to attend your club. It can be for any activity that you can think of linked to sport.
I've put a couple of real leaflets below for you to look at and get some ideas. It might not be the sport you like but there are things you could use.
Think about:
- how pictures are used;
- how they do or don't make the club sound exciting;
- the way the information is set out;
- do they offer it to everyone, or is it just for certain people; and
- do they say how you can sign up?
There are lots of other things you might want to include so feel free to add anything else you would like.
Like before, if you don't really follow a sport then maybe do it about a computing club or art club, it is up to you.
Topic work
The project this week aims to provide opportunities for you to learn more about sports and games. Learning may focus on the history of sport, sporting-heroes, physical challenges and performance.
● Our Sport Heroes- How many famous sports people can your child name? Ask them to choose a sports person and research online about them. Can they find out how and when they started their career, or any other interesting facts about them? Encourage your child to create a timeline that details all of the achievements of their sporting hero.
● Tissue Paper Sports Logo - Ask your child to use scrunched up tissue and paint to recreate the logo for their favourite sport team or design and create their own sport logo, perhaps for their school team. Your child could sketch this with pencils as an alternative.
● Super Movers! - Encourage your child to take part in this football themed Super Movers! There are two levels - Super Movers are a great way to keep active and have fun! Try Go Noodle and dance along to one of their routines - there’s plenty to choose from and the whole family can join in! Your child could design a poster encouraging others to take part in sporting activities. Ask them how they would persuade others to join in. What type of words could they use?
● Sharing Sport Interests - Encourage your child to ask different family members about their favourite sports and any sports they took part in growing up - were they a part of any clubs? Did they take part in any competitions? Did they win any trophies? They might find out something new about their family members! Following this, can your child use the information to write a newspaper report recounting one the memorable events? They could include quotes from the interview.
● Powerful Paralympians - You could explore diversity in sport with your child. Ask your child to find out about the Paralympic games and famous paralympians such as Ellie Simmonds. How have these people overcome challenges to represent their country in their chosen sport? They could write a letter/email to a chosen athlete and ask them questions about their sporting journey. Or they could draw a detailed sketch of the athlete during a winning moment.
