Yr 3

Today we are going to do something a bit different. You have worked really hard on your maths so far this week so we have got a game to play today. Have a look at the sheet below and then have a go!

  -Year 3 maths game.pdf-

If you want to you could change some of the rules to make it easier or harder.

You could change some of the amounts - instead of £1.95 you could make it £2 to be easier, or maybe £1.67 to be harder for example. You could also change the starting amount. Maybe you want to go a bit further and make up your own version where you buy train carriages or football stickers, or maybe even cupcakes and Port Vale shirts!

It might be tricky to find someone to play with during lockdown but maybe you could just play on your own and have a couple of goes and see how much money you can get each time.

I hope you have fun playing.

Year 4

I was going to set you the money problems but then I thought if the year 3s are doing something fun then I'd set you something fun too (I think lockdown is getting to me - I'm neing kind to you lot, that never happens!).

There is a code breaking sheet below, see if you can crack the emojis. smiley

The answers are at the bottom of the page.

In this lesson, we will introduce new vocabulary, identify word pairs and synonyms and apply the vocabulary in sentences.

To develop a rich understanding of words associated with night time (thenational.academy)

In the video it talks about synonyms again (words that mean the same or nearly the same as another word).

Please complete the sheet below by writing your answers neatly in your books.

You could use a thesaurus to help you, try checking out an online one.

Then check out the Teams quiz and write in some synonyms for the words there.

Thursday afternoons would normally be PSCHE and circle time where we have chance to catch up with each other and talk about what is happening and think about how to look after ourselves. This afternoon we will take some time to think about our mental health at this tricky time.

Mindfullness
As we have said to you before it is so important to look after our mental health as well as our physical health, especially during Lockdown. So on this afternoon we will have time to do some mindfullness activities and do the things we enjoy.

It can also be a time to show our family we appreciate them, home schooling might not be easy on us or own grown ups. But they are working really hard as well, not just doing all the things they normally do but helping you too. Make sure you are kind to them and say thank you, could you do something nice for them?

Grown ups- We all want to say thank you for supporting your children to complete the work we are setting. It is tricky working from home and looking after children and we all fully appreciate there might be times when you don't get everything done and that's ok. Please don't let it cause lots of stress for you at home, do what you are able to do and look after yourselves too.

So this afternoon why not have a go at one of these activities:

Cosmic Kids Yoga - YouTube

- Cosmic Yoga - this can be a brilliant way to help you be calm and help get rid of some stress (although for me it is more stressful because at my age it is hard to get back up again!).

- Mindfullness colouring -  pick one of the sheets and colour it in. You could do one and give it to your family.

  -Words of Encouragement.pdf-

Watch out  - there are a lot of sheets in some of the packs. Make sure you only print off the page you want, not the whole thing or else it could add to the stress!

- Do some baking
- Go for a family walk
- Spend some time with your pet

Don't forget there are the daily challenges and Joe Wicks PE challenges to do if you want to do something more energetic today.
