Sculptures and more

We've had a very busy week in class 4; firstly we've been developing our understaning on angles and using that knowledge to explore angle facts and how we can work out the size of certain angles without a protractor. The puzzles presented required a fair bit of logic and thought to identify which angles could be worked out.



This week we've been focusing our theme work onsculptures. We've looked at various sculptures and why they were created, looking at materials and styles. Luckily we're just around the corner from the incredibly beautiful Himalayan Gardens, who kindly allowed us to visit and meet their head gardener who helps decide where the sculptures go. We listened to how they make those choices and the ideas behind some of their sculptures. 



We then walked around the gardens, viewing the sculptures and discussing what we think they're of, before drawing sketches of the ones which captured our attention most. 




 

  

 
We'll be designing and making our sculptures this and next week which would be suitable for the style features in the Himalayan gardens. We'll be focusing on nature, relaxation and of course with a Himalayan theme. 


And finally, we've just finished our last p.e lesson in our current topic, cricket. We've played mini matches using our throwing, catching, fielding and bowling skills
