Finished poems and eyes

We've now finished our poems on warnings about dragons focusing on using rich and figurative language.

Here's some examples which are now up in the main-school display to view. I am really proud of how determined and keen they were to make this work their very best. We wanted the poem to serve as a warning which would suggest this mythical creature was an almight being, and build in the level our warning. I certainly wouldn't dare enter the beast's lair, but for anyone who has teenage siblings, I guess you'll have a first-hand experience of this already wink

 We're making a new display to showcase our work as we're so proud of it. We hope you'll have time to pop in and view it sometime.
 

 

To accompany our poems, we wanted to focus on the dragon's eye - we can often read emotions through eyes and there's no denying the murderous intents of these dragons. The children were tasked with applying clay-shaping techniques to give the effect of scales and features commonly associated with dragons. Here's is the behind-the-scenes images of them working hard to create their eyes.

The next thing we had to do was to paint them in realistic looking colours. The class blended colours together and applied it to their designs.

One or two people were asking how Olivia (my daughter) is doing now she's just come around to her first birthday. It's really kind of people to remember and so I thought I'd upload a video I'd created of special moments over her year. She is doing very well though and keeps mummy and daddy very busy!
