SATs are OVER!!!!

13 May 2022

I want to begin this week's update by saying how immensely proud we are of our year 6 for showing such commitment to their SATs examinations this week. They tried so hard and worked with determination throughout the week.

It's become a traditional now that we celebrate after they have finished but they did have a shock to find out that today there was one more SATs test to complete. With worried faces, Mrs Hendrie brought the test papers over, sealed in their packaging of course but they were surprised to find that this particular SATs test cake was in fact edible!!! Suddenly they seemed rather keen to be involved after all.

This young man didn't waste anytime in getting stuck into the 'test'

After a few intense mornings, year 6 also got to take part in some parachute games

We also have worked hard in the afternoon to find out about some of the bizarre beliefs which the Maya had and their Gods. We know that they took their religion extremely seriously and thought that the everyday happenings were dependant on the gods. In order to appease their gods, they'd carry out regular human (and animal) sacrafices.

Here are some of our information texts, presenting our findings in a fun yet informative style

And finally, we've been focusing on cricket skills this half term, and putting some of those skills into mini matches. Remember, a team is only as strong as its weakest link so we all try to work together and support everyone!
