Art - Canopic Jars

29 Jun 2023

This week we had a bit of a change for our topic work and we  moved on to our art project. The children looked at making sculptures using clay and then started to have a go at making their own canopic jars.

They had a great time exploring different ways to manipulate and shape the clay, and they loved using the tools too!

After we had worked on our skills we made our first versions of the jars. It was a lovely way to experiment and see what we could do. There were a few bits that fell off and a few jars that collasped but that was all part of  the fun, and finding out what works and what doesn't.

Towards the end of the week we created our final versions which are now all set and ready for a paint. smiley

PS - your homework this week is a sheet from Mrs F looking at revising different shapes ready for a test on Friday, so make sure you go through it carefully.
