Wellbeing

Well-being is all about feeling happy, safe and healthy in both body and mind. At Grewelthorpe Primary, we believe that when children feel good about themselves, they are better able to learn, make friends, and enjoy their time at school.

As a small, close-knit rural school with a big heart, it’s especially important to us that every child feels known, cared for and supported. We encourage children to look out for one another and build strong, positive relationships.

This sense of community extends beyond the classroom—it's a real joy to see our pupils mingling freely at Bonfire Night or helping each other out at the Grewelthorpe Fête.

We offer age-appropriate PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) lessons for all children, helping them to understand their feelings, make good choices, and learn about healthy relationships. We also have dedicated safeguarding officers on hand to ensure all children feel safe and protected, and any instances of behaviour that do not meet our high standards are quickly and thoughtfully addressed.

Supporting well-being is at the heart of everything we do, helping our children grow into confident, kind, and caring individuals.
