Forest Schools
The children have been carrying on with their Forest School sessions again this week with Mrs L, and they have been learning some great life skills. They have been learning how to create shelters from things around them, and also how to cook some very tasty looking food (their cooking is much better than mine, the food would look very burnt if I had tried this!). Ripon questionnaire
We've finished our newspapers and what an excellent job they've done with them. They've worked extremely hard to communicate the news story in a formal manner, with fact but interest as a focus. We're very proud of their work and presentation. We've also been continuing our investigation as to whether Ripon ought to reconsider its closure of the railway station, back in 1969. First, we invited a man from the Civic Society to explain some of the transport history of Ripon, inc

Samba!
Over the last few weeks, Class 2 have been working on their dance skills with Mr Whitford in pe, and they have created some samba inspired dance routines. The children have loved listening to the music and finding out about the history of the dance and watching videos of people performing it. They have then gone on to begin to create their own routines and to start to put some sequences of moves together. The project is lots of fun and it is lovely to see so many smiling face

Local geography
We've continued with our newspaper reports, and have been busy collecting research and quotes to ensure we've got all the facts and are accurate with our information. Here's a behind-the-scenes shot of our reporters at the press office. We've also been developing our understanding of our local area and have been studying Ripon and older maps of the area to locate where the former rail station stood and the where the line went. Here we are adding the former railline to a moder
