Christmas is coming
We've celebrated the Christmas season with lots of fun activities; we had our Christmas lunch which was really yummy while enjoying Christmas songs We then ran our Christmas-fayre stalls which the children were extremely excited about. They designed their own games with profit in mind. They had to think of the accessibility of the game, it's appeal and the prizes on offer. Once they planned this, they tested it out and costed the game buying prizes as well as decorating their

Party Time!
After a very long term we have made it to the last week, and we saw the term out in style with our Christmas party on Wednesday. There was lots of dancing and games, as well as a few quizzes thrown in too. We all had a great time playing with our friends and dancing together, and it left us all feeling very Christmassy. I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and enjoy your time off. You have been an awesome class to teach, Class 2, and I can't wait to see you again next ter

Christmas Fun
This week we have been finishing off some of our Christmas themed activities. We started off by going back over our work and looking at some of the wonderful ideas we had thought of for our Christmas writing earlier in the term. Then we started to put these together to make some poems about Christmas sights and sounds. Later in the week we made some Christmas cards to take home too. There were some amazing designs, and making these made us all feel very Christmassy. I hope yo

Oh no it isn't
This week class 1 have been making shapes with straws and playdough. They had to think carefully about the number of sides and properties of a square and triangle. We had fun playing parachute games in the hall during a rainy playtime and also celebrated Letties' birthday . We have been practising our Nativity songs ready for Tuesday and look forward to sharing them with you then ! We have also had a wonderful time at Harrogate Theatre as part of our whole school Pantomime tr

It's behind you!
This week it's all becoming to feel a bit like Christmas around Grewelthorpe School. First the school council put up the Christmas tree and made our hall look more festive. Then on Friday, we got to visit the Pantomime; it's been quite a while since we've had a whole school outing to the pantomime. Here we are getting into the spirit of things before our trip. Needless to say, they didn't need to say "I can't hear you" to this lively bunch - everybody definitely picked up tha

Printing fantastic
This week it's been art week - we always look forward to our art-focused weeks and the medium was through printing. The children experimented with different techniques to print; we soon discovered that printing is very difficult and isn't going to produce the crisp and polished outcomes. With that in mind, we aimed to create Christmas-card designs, using simple shapes and backgrounds but through a layered build up approach. After trying out printing styles and weighing up the
