SIAMS
SIAMS stands for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. It is a mandatory inspection for all Church of England and Methodist schools in England, evaluating how a school's distinctly Christian vision impacts the flourishing of both pupils and adults.
Unlike Ofsted, which focuses heavily on academic performance, SIAMS evaluates the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the school community. It ensures the school remains faithful to its religious foundation.
Inspectors focus on evaluating the Impact of the Christian Vision by examining:
The Vision: Whether the school has a relevant Christian vision.
Provision: How the school's curriculum, collective worship and pastoral care are shaped by this vision.
Flourishing: The impact of these factors on children and staff, measuring inclusivity, mental well-being and personal development.
Current SIAMS Evaluation Schedule and guidelines are on the SIAMS Inspections - National Society for England page and past inspection outcomes for specific schools can be found on the SIAMS Inspection Reports library database.
