Welcome

Nestled in the heart of our local community within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Beauty, Grewelthorpe Primary offers a complete and enriching education for children aged 3 to 11, from Nursery through to Year 6. Our small class sizes create a warm, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to step outside their comfort zone, try new things, and grow in confidence.
At Grewelthorpe Primary, learning goes beyond the classroom. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors in Forest School, building water confidence through swimming classes, performing in music recitals, or taking centre stage in our Year 5 and 6 school play, every child is given the opportunity to shine.
We are proud of our strong academic foundation, with a particular focus on phonics, Maths and English, but also the breadth and depth of our wider curriculum. We consistently receive positive feedback from both pupils and parents. But what truly sets us apart is our sense of community – a place where children of all ages know and support one another, forming lasting friendships and a deep sense of belonging.
We warmly invite you to discover what makes Grewelthorpe Primary such a special place to learn and grow. Contact us via email to book a visit.

"Welcome to Grewelthorpe Church of England Primary School – a small rural school with a big heart.
At Grewelthorpe Primary, we believe that when children feel safe, seen, and supported, they develop the confidence and curiosity to become lifelong learners and thoughtful citizens."
Mrs Barker, Headteacher Grewelthorpe Primary
