Exploring Maps

This week we have been looking at maps and how to use them to find our way around. We started out by looking at some maps of our local area and seeing if we could use these to find some of the villages and landmarks near us. We also looked at the different symbols on the maps and thought about what these might stand for. The children then had a great time outside creating their own maps of the school and using the points of the compass to work out where things are in relation to each other. This is a great topic and the children can't wait to find out more.
