We have had a really exciting week this week, and not only have we been out on a school trip, but we've also had World Book Day too!

On Wednesday we went to Askham Bryan Wildlife park near York to take part in some workshops to help us with our science topic. We have been learning about how to classify different types of animals and we thought it would be a good idea to go and see some of the animals for ourselves. The children loved observing and drawing the animals, and then they had to try and work out if they were reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds or fish. It was an amazing day and the children loved it. It must have been more tiring than they thought though as there were quite a few who fell asleep on the bus on the way back!

Thursday was World Book Day too and we had a wonderful day dressing up and celebrating reading. The children really enjoyed taking part in some workshops with an author, and of course we had Willy Wonka come in to sell some chocolate bars too. FROGS very kindly came in and decorated the school for us to make the day even more special, and it was lovely to see how much the children enjoyed the occasion. The outfits were amazing and thanks to everyone who helped to make the costumes with the children.
