Art Week

This week has been art week and we have had a great time learning all about Dezil Forrester and creating some art work inspired by him.

We started off by looking at some of his pictures and talking about how he in turn was inspired by Caribbean music. We then listened to some dub and reggae and drew our own pieces. The children especially loved a bit of Bob Marley and some of the children were singing along to every word of the songs!

We looked at how Denzil used bright blocks of colours to create the background and built our work up in stages to copy this.

We managed to finish our final versions on Thursday and hopefully they should be dry and ready to bring home soon. The children loved the project and worked really hard on their masterpieces - well done, Class 2!
