Printing fantastic

This week it's been art week - we always look forward to our art-focused weeks and the medium was through printing. The children experimented with different techniques to print; we soon discovered that printing is very difficult and isn't going to produce the crisp and polished outcomes. With that in mind, we aimed to create Christmas-card designs, using simple shapes and backgrounds but through a layered build up approach.
After trying out printing styles and weighing up their appearance, we then designed our Christmas cards and began creating them.
And here they are - we think they do look very effective and give off a lovely Christmassy feel - now which one is coming to a home near you will have to remain a mystery...

And of course, despite being art week, we still managed to fit some maths in too - here they are playing some games to speed up their recognition of fractions and their decimal equivalents
