Please don't eat the experiment!

This week we have been carrying out some experiments in science to see what happens when we heat and cool solids, and how we can change the state a material is in.
We timed how long it would take for jelly cubes to melt in some beakers, which all had different temperatures of water in. Afterwards, we looked at what would happen if we then cooled a liquid down at different temperatures too, and how long they would take to solidify. We all had lots of fun measuring temperatures and times, and of course looking at the jelly itself.
Later on in the week we talked about our strengths and what we were good at so we could celebrate our achievements. It is always lovely to hear what the children get up to and what their hobbies are, and we have an amazing class full of talented horse riders, gymnasts, readers, artists, footballers and so many other things too.
