Friday 5th February Class 1

RHebblewhite - 04 Feb 2021

Friday 5th February

Join us at 9.00a.m. this morning for a live meet.
Bring a favourite book for 'Show and Tell'.

Good morning everyone! We hope you have all had a nice week.

Today's Tasks are as follows:

Phonics Reception - Play a game to practise reading the 'sh' sound.
Maths Reception - Make a teddy repeating pattern picture.
Phonics  and Maths Nursery - Learn the song 'Ten In The Bed' and practise counting to 10.

Today's story is 'One Ted Falls Out Of Bed', click on the triangle play button below to watch.

Activity for Nursery and Reception

Pause the story and count the toys on each page with your grown-up. Can you spot the rhyming words in our story?

Listen to the song 'Ten In the Bed'. Can you join in, using your fingers as teddy bears?
Put one finger down each time and count how many bears are left in the bed.
You could count out your own set of ten toys and sing the song
with your grown-up. Make one toy fall out of bed or off the sofa each time!

Reception Phonics

Find and complete the cat writing sheet in your Phonics pack. It has the large outline of a cat, with the word '_at' at the top. Robot-talk and write the three-letter words on the sheet. You could write words that rhyme with cat, or other 3-letter words. You might choose to write onto a whiteobard or into a book, as the spaces are quite small.

Find the 'Phase 3 Roll and Read - sh' sheet in your Phonics pack. With a dice, take turns with your grown-up to roll and sound out one 'sh' word from the row. You could record your rolls and see who can be the first to roll one of each number.

Maths Reception

Find and complete the 'Sea-Life World' sheet in your Maths Pack.

We have been looking at 'repeating patterns'. Find the Teddy cut-outs sheet in your Maths Pack. These teds have fallen out of bed! Cut them out and arrange them in repeating patterns. For example, some could land on their heads/bottoms/tummies/backs.

We have been looking at 3D shapes. How many different items in your house can you find that are 'Cylinders?'. Can you count  and point to their 3 faces? What shapes would they be, if you flattened out the cylinder? A kitchen roll is a little bit like a cylinder, but with no ends. Maybe you could use some of these ideas to do some junk modelling with your spare kitchen rolls or toilet rolls?
