Class One Newsletter 30th April

RHebblewhite and NTodd - 30 Apr 2021

This week in Class One, we have enjoyed watching our French Beans and sunflowers grow and have talked about the special jobs that different parts of the plant do.

This week's topic has been 'Minibeasts': We began by sharing The Hungry Caterpillar story and watched a short clip about the metamorphosis of a caterpillar. We then enjoyed making symmetrical butterfly pictures and talked about information books and how they are different to story books.

Later in the week, we went on a snail hunt in the school garden and enjoyed observing the snails in our tank, using magnifying glasses. We then made playdough snails, using lots of great rolling and coiling.

Reception have begun our new PSHE 'Jigsaw' scheme and have had a lesson this week exploring emotions.

And finally, we mustn't forget to say a big 'thank you' to Henry's Mum and Dad for our new log seats! They will be much enjoyed in our willow shelter!
