Death mask designing

20th September 2019
We've started to look at stories set in Egypt as our narrative text and begun to consider the settings found within Egypt. We're looking forward to developing our ideas into descriptions and stories shortly.
In our theme, we continued to consider death-mask designs after hearing about Howard Carter's incredible find in 1922, where Tutankhamen's tomb was discovered after 3000 years. The children designed their mask in traditional colours and styles, before adding decoration to it to make their mask unique and finally added an emblem to the centre. We think they look quite striking.

Please note: years 4/5/6 are going to visit the Pump Room's Egyptian department to spend a day learning about more of their culture and customs on the 3rd October, leaving at 9am!
