Wahoo - Sats are done for 2023!

Sats week is always a gruelling week but year 6 have been absolutely fantastic at putting their all into their examinations and worked so hard. We're all very proud with your efforts, resilience and perseverance. You have all done your best and that's all that matters - We can forget about them now! wink

And how do we unwind and relax after such focused mornings you might wonder? By rein acting the brutal massacre of the Viking raids at Lindisfarne…
 
We have moved on from the Anglo Saxons and have now turned our attention to the next group of settlers (and raiders) who set their sights on a better life in Anglo-land (England). We learnt about who the Vikings were and where they came from as well as about how they targeted rich monasteries, such as the one found on Holy Island, to plunder of its wealthy goods. The defenceless Monks stood no chance, but fortunately this lethal raid was recorded in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles which has helped inform our knowledge and understanding of the event.
 
Here we are rein acting scenes from that fateful day; we held freeze frames and shared our thoughts based the characters we were portraying. Can you guess who the Monks and Vikings were from their scenes? 


 

 

 
And finally, to celebrate the end of assessments week we pulled out the leavers jumpers and they soon ditched our lovely emerald-green attire. Here we are celebrating the moments the SATs were over!
 
That’s it from me for two weeks, as I now am taking some leave to try and be more helpful at home. I am sure you will enjoy working with Mrs Stokoe.
