It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

09 Dec 2022

This week we finished off our Christmas cards!!! We have spent a long time trying to perfect these and it's easy to overlook the effort which goes into printing. First we had to test a range of printing styles and colours to find effects which look good as Christmas cards and that bring on the features of our design. Then we had to make 3 or 4 stencils to create the colour block backgrounds (and give it a lot of drying time) before adding in our central images and fine-tuning it with string prints for detail.
Here they all are anyway and we're very pleased with their finished look. Despite high demand, we have chosen to sell these exclusively with Elfridges this year, other well-known establishments were rightly disappointed but we felt this the right decision.
Elfridges also happen to be selling in our school hall next Wednesday.

On Wednesday we went to visit Ripon Grammar school, where they taught us all abous using a periscope. We made one from scratch and looked at the angles of the mirrors, which allowed us to see something above your eye height.

Finally, the school council have been arranging a Christmas fayre for this week. They wanted to raise money to spend on things which the whole school would like. They'll be thinking about this in the early new year but well done to them all after raising £160! Also thanks to everyone who supported the fayre - let's hope we can find some nice and exciting things for us to have next year.

Here's some of the pictures taken of our Xmas-fayre fun.
