Christmas rehearsals begin

21 Nov 2019

22nd November 2019

We have been doing some English work on recounts and journalistic writing; our topic has been focusing on the idea that extra-terrestrial life might be out there and listening to and studying evidence of potential encounters as well as imagining our own. We watched the opening scene of E.T as a stimulus to collect ideas and imagine what such an encounter might look like. We then took on the role of various witnesses, who were in the area at the time, and interviewed them for the purpose of collecting first-hand accounts and quotes for our newspapers which we'll begin later in the topic. Everybody tried incredibly hard to imagine and describe their experiences to a packed room of 'reporters'

On Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, we're dedicating some time to practice this year's Christmas production. Here's a sneak peak at some of the behind-the-scenes work which has been going on already. It's always a privilege to see the children take ownership of their part and improve week upon week and is real opportunity to thrive and grow in confidence. This week's homework is to make a real effort to learn those lines!
