Light

09 Jun 2023

For our focus this half term we have been looking at light and seeing how we see. This is a great topic to do as there is lots of practical work which is always lots of fun!

The class have been exploring how we need light to be able to see the objects around us and thinking about what happens when there is no light. We used these boxes to first cut out as much light as possible and then slowly allowed more light in by making holes to see how this altered which colours and images we could see.

We also looked at how different materials reflect more light than others and how we can use this information to make some things more visible and stand out more, especially things like reflective jackets and badges that help to keep us safe and seen.

The children have really enjoyed the topic and have loved our science lessons this week, and they always amaze us with their levels of enthusiasm and hard work. smiley

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
