  Good morning Home School!

Wake up and shake up! Click on the link below to choose an activity to start the day. Do a morning routine with Joe Wicks, find a fun activity on GoNoodle or try something new like yoga.

Morning work

Practice your mental maths by playing on SumDog.

Today we are going to be practicing two curly letters. Watch the video below to find out what they are.

Y1 finish off all the letters at the bottom of the 5th page of your Handwriting 2 booklet. It should say 'Short ladder letters' at the top of the page.

Y2 practice joining to curly e. Finish off the last page of Handwriting 5.

Here are some pictures and sentences that you have created for the story of Little Red

How was Anna feeling at the end of the Chapter 3? Here are some ideas. I have highlighted the super adjectives and descriptive language used.

Click on the video below to listen to Chapter 4 of Little Red.

I have set some activities for this story in PurpleMash . Login and click on '2Do'.

Y2 - I spotted some exclamation sentences in the story today. Watch the video to find out more.

Look at the pictures from the story below. Can you remember the exclamation sentences that go with each picture? In your Home School book draw a picture of eyes, ears, and paws then under each picture write the exclamation sentence from the story. Remember they all started with 'What' and ended with 'have'.

Now get your highlighter pen and highlight any capital letters and exclamation marks that you used.

 Y1 Maths
What time does this clock say?

The short hour hand is pointing to the number 1 and the long minute is pointing to the top to show o'clock. It must be

1 o'clock.

Can you remember how to write it as a digital clock?   1:00

Now complete page 4 in your Time Practice booklet. Ask an adult to draw and extra line under each clock and have a go at writing the digital time and the words for each clock just like I did above.

Y2 Maths
Get your purple pens and mark your work from Tuesday and Wednesday. The answers are in the Homework section.

Watch the video below and take a closer look at where both hands move to for quarter past times.

Log onto You will need the school username and password and your portal username and password.  Click on the Homework tab at the top choose 'Telling the time - quarter to/past'.

 choose 'Try the Lesson'.

Click on the number 6 and have a go at writing the times. Then click on number 7 and have a go at moving the clock hands to show the time.

Maths Super Challenge

Y1 & Y2 - Can you remember all your sounds? Join in with me to play a game of Flashcards Time Challenge below.

You can practice spotting all your sounds by reading one of the Phonicsplay Comics at Scroll down the page to find the phase 5a and 5b comics.

Year 1

Practice your spellings using the 'Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check' method using your spelling sheets.

If you have time log onto WordShark. I have set this weeks spellings so you need click on the 'My Set Work' tab at the top of the screen.

Year 2
Practice your spellings using the  'Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check' method using your spelling sheets. Remember to use joined up handwriting and think about how it feels to write each word. Sometimes the way the word feels as you write it can help you remember how to spell it.

Log onto WordShark.  I have not set any work on Wordshark so just play the games and you will be practicing the words that the computer has set as your target words to practice.

Y1 & Y2 Read a few pages from your school book. Then quiet reading for 20 mins - you can carry on reading your school book, or choose a book you have at home. Think about a quiet place you could go to read. Maybe outside?

Log onto

Click on Assignments then Zootime – Step 3b

There are several games and activites to do including 2 new songs to listen to. Choose one activity to do today.

Click on the link to find out more about a pond habitat. There are two videos and a quiz to try.

Other Things
What else are you doing at Home School?
