Class 2 Spring 2 Week 2

01 Mar 2024

We have had an exciting week again in class 2.

We have started our next project in writing and explored the idea of persuasion. The children were really good at trying to get the other members of the class to join with them in their opinions. We had child led debates over topics such as:
  • Cats are the best pets.
  • Animals should never be kept in zoos.
  • Football is the best sport.
Please ask us our opinions at home and challenge us to see if we can persuade you agree with our way of thinking too.
We have really enjoyed adding a free write to our week, inspired by a picture. This week it was a picture of a message in a bottle washed up on the shore. The children did such a great job at creating sentences and whole narratives from the photo we have decided to add a free write to our weekly morning work schedule. I can’t wait to see what other imaginative stories the children can come up with.
In maths we have completed our second week of learning and calculating with money. Thankyou to all the children who attempted the homework task and added their names to the dojo reward board. We will be moving on to another topic in maths next week but please keep practicing money at home as it is a life skill and will be revisited each year in school. Don’t worry - we will be keeping our new pop up shop in class to keep our practice up in school as well.

Hope you all have a relaxing weekend and we look forward to seeing you again next week,

Mrs Field and Mr Scott
