10 Mar 2023

Snow Day

What a snowy day it is today!

How beautiful everything looks in the snow!

DT

Can you design and build a model or structure out of snow. (e.g. a snowman or maybe something else you haven't tried before).

English
Draw a picture of your favourite things to do in the snow. Write some sentences to tell me about them. Remember to put a capital letter at the start of each sentence and a full stop (or other appropriate punctuation mark) at the end of every sentence.

Challenge: Can you include a question or an exclamation sentence?

Maths
Year 1s

How many things can you find around the house, or garden or on a walk that you can count in 2s, 5s or 10s? Take a photo if you can and bring it to school on Monday.

Year 2s
Can you solve the following problem. 'Calculation' means a number sentence.
Remember you can draw anything that will help you.

Spelling
Ask an adult to test you on your spellings. They say the word and you write it down.

Challenge: Ask an adult to say a sentence with 2 or more of your spellings in. You write it down. Did you remember to correctly spell your spelling words in the sentence?

Other things
Read a book.
Re-tell a story to your family. (One that you already know)
Make up your own story - Draw a story map and tell the story to your family.
