Morning work

Do as many quesitons as you can.

Black  - questions for everyone.
Copy the words into your Journals and put a line under all the 2 letter sounds. Read each word. If the word is a real word then give it a tick. If it is not a real word you can draw an alien next to it.

Blue - Y2
Someone has rubbed out all the letters that make the /igh/ sound from my words. Can you match the words to the correct /igh/ spellings then copy them into your Home School books in joined up handwriting.

English

Y1 Complete 'Pencil control 9' in Handwriting 2 which has a picture of a fish in the middle. You can also colour in the fish if you want. Can you remember how to hold your pencil correctly? Send me a photo of your super froggy fingers.

Y2 Watch the video below to find out what you are doing.

Now complete the pencil control sheet headed 'Practise, practise' in Handwriting 5.

Y1 & Y2 Listen to the last chapter of Little Red.

I have set everyone some activities for this story in PurpleMash . Login and click on '2Do'.

Y2 Help me write some exclamation sentences. Watch the video below.

Find page 32 in your Punctuation and Grammar booklet. There are 6 pictures and the first picture is a teddy. You need to finish off the exclamation sentences and each picture has a word next to it to help you or you can think of your own words. There isn't very much room on that sheet so write your exclamation sentences in your blue Home School book.

Y1 Maths

Get your purple pen and mark your work from yesterday. The answers are in the Homework section of the website.

On Monday I made a video all about draw the hands on an analogue clock to show half past but I accidently set the wrong page in your Time Practice booklet. So some of you might have done page 5 (hands for o'clock) which is the page I accidently told you to do and some of you might have done page 6 (hands for half past) which is the page that went with what we were learning. Today I would like you complete page 5 or page 6 - whichever one you didn't do on Monday!

If you are going to do page 6 (Set the Clock - Analogue Clocks) then have another look at the video from Monday.

If you are going to do page 5 (Put the hands on the clock) then think about the different ways to write the o'clock times that you were doing yesterday - words or digial. When you are drawing the hands make sure that I can tell which is the long minute hand and which is the short hour hand. Use your home made clocks to help.

Y2 Maths

We have been learn lots about telling the time. Today I want you to think about everything we have done so far and practice by completing the 7th and 8th pages in your Time Practice booklet. They should look like this:

 1) Why has Mr Clock (top left picture!) written extra numbers around the outside of the clock? What is he trying to show you? Go over the numbers on the outside of the clock to show the minutes
2) So what do the numbers 1 to 12 show? - The hours.
3) For each clock write the digital time underneath.
Optional challenge: If you spot a time that can be written using the words 'half past' or 'quarter past' then write the time in words as well under the digital time.
